HURT by Abhinav Pandey

I lay myself down today On the thorns of my misfortunes. I carry the burden of deep pain Everywhere this soul travels. One moment of grave sadness Takes away the feeling to feel the pain. Of all states, I love the most, Is of solitude and incurable bane. Stars don't shine the same, They have faded with time Time faded their twinkle Time faded their light, Moments of ugly truth Millions of miles away, Come to you without knocking Then break you down with pain. The only thing watching you today Is your shadow which is there when it’s all bright Of all the saddest things I’ve seen It’ll leave you on your darkest night. This bee stung me once They say the pain goes away If I could explain them again The sting and pain remain the same. Some day a light will come Piercing the dark clouds and those massive thunderbolts, Someday the stars will not age Someday the stars will shine again. Look down to that narrow lane once again...

Clearing Group discussions like a champion

Image
The group discussion which is also called “GD” in short has always been an integral part of recruitment process in both private and public sector.GD in most recruitment tests are preceded by aptitude test and followed by interviews.GD’S are often regarded as the fear of unknown and that is only because of the perception that the topic given in GD’s are difficult and may even require out of the box thinking. The topic in most of the GD’s are generally related to the current events or of general trends that are going around the country .Sometime topics can be both funny yet confusing but are generally provided to check candidates thinking and reasoning ability. Out of the box thinking and creativity is what recruiter wants to see in the candidates while giving such topics. In a Group Discussion (GD), you are expected to contribute meaningfully and help arrive at a consensus. It is not a platform for you to fight your way through and dominate. Flexibility and getting with the gr...

The Indian education system -What’s at stake?

Image
The Indian education system -What’s at stake? A topic needs no introduction in itself when mere mentioning of it raises eyebrows all across the country. People frequently crib about the poor state of our education structure but nothing can be done about it is their solution in the end. Till the time theoretical knowledge would keep on winning the majority of the chunk of subject curriculum, plight of education would keep getting degraded. More than 80% students in today’s scenario know about the formulae for finding the demand elasticity or even price elasticity but few of them only can tell the impact of this on the market or even on their own daily needs. Without using more technical terms in this article/blog I would want to turn all your attention towards the pity state of education in India. Gone are the days when education was measured in terms of the understanding of the subject and the relation between the “Guru” and his pupil encompassed by the Gurukul mode o...

Is MBA in India overrated?

Is MBA in India overrated? THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION Scenario: (2 friends were walking down a narrow road chatting about future career prospects crowded by street food vendors on both sides of the road.) Person A: So what are your future plans now after graduation? Would you be going on for a Job or for post graduation? Person B: I am planning to do MBA from any college.  I've  heard MBA is good. Person A: MBA is good in what aspects? Why MBA? Don’t take decisions in such a hurry. Person B: Many of my friends are doing it and it looks good on your CV too. (Person B stops by an ice-cream vendor and is about to purchase a  5 rupee  ice-cream when person A intervene) Person A: Instead of buying a cheap ice-cream lets buy good price-quality stuff. Person B: Dude, you know nothing about ice-creams. This ice-cream is so soft with sweet cream in between and it melts so softly in your mouth. Its stick is made up of chocolate and you can ev...

The 2 C’s of life- Criticism and Confidence.

The 2 C’s of life Criticism and Confidence . Scenario: (2 friends sitting in a canteen chatting about politics and sports) Person A: You should certainly find an English coaching class for you sir, because your speaking skill are as bad as my grandmother’s knowledge about computers. Person B: And Sir since when you had so much of expertise in this language? You have done a doctorate in this language? I have a fairly good command over this language than you. It is only sometimes that I stumble upon words but I speak quite well most of the times. Person A: Am sorry sir, but my intentions were not to hurt you but only wanted you to know your weak points so you can make improvements and come back strongly. (A silence followed by dispersion) How many times we face criticism with a straight face and welcome criticism in our life with a positive intent to work towards the various loopholes that we have created in our living environment either intentionall...
