A PLACE TO REMEMBER

Jnu has something in it, which fascinates me a lot every time I go there. The avid beauty of nature is spread all across the terrain which often reminds me of the place above Mussoorie which is called ‘cloud end’ which is at a distance of about 6 km west of the Library and resembles a quite like Jnu’s ambience. Cloud’s end can be reached through the Hathipaon road from Happy Valley from Mussoorie .A recent visit with friends reminded me of the days spent at the canteen which was a true value for money thing, and we used to criticize the delivery time of the order taken by them .Every time there was a delay in delivering the food to us by the staff and we used to swear that we won’t visit the place next time we come here, but then again the old fat uncle who was the owner of the so called ‘teflas’ canteen was a source of humour for all of us and that + cheap food would always made us enter the heavenly gates of this food point.Jnu has also been an epitome and benchmark of higher education and had always welcomed tough competition from all across the country, but we never visited it because of any educational values. It was because after increase in urbanization and infrastructural development piling up day to day ,places like Jnu has conserved a wildlife in itself, though unintentionally because such a huge amount of land can’t be commercialized or filled instantly and because of the fact that it’s meant to be used for educational purpose.Jnu has been in news for various reasons that it would not be proud of and various tragic events add to the misery of visitors and students, because each time something bad happens at Jnu,entry is restricted for outside people over the fact that every tragic incident occurring at the campus involves people from Jnu itself and not outside except minute incidents. The cool breeze that travelled beside us whenever we used to visit Jnu’s playground can never be forgotten .I don’t know where we will be after sometime from now and what’ll do, but images of serenity amidst mountain rocks and green boundaries would never be forgotten. Places like these often remind you of your childhood where visiting the nearby mango farms back at your hometown was a daily practice which often involved bruises and cuts all over the body in the course of climbing that mango tree irrespective of the fact that i never really liked eating mangoes but the fun of stealing mangoes was amazing and it was in contrast to the fact that once we entered Jnu through an unauthorized zone because of the restricted entry ,and the secret passage is known by handful of  thieves .

Note: It's such a vast & beautiful place that even after visiting it for so many times from so many years, we haven't seen it completely and every time we visit the place, we find something new in it .
